started writing after reading his first novel - The Sword of Shannara, and influenced by D&D, the idea of creating his own stories became a passion. It took him several years to finish writing his Penumbra trilogy: Chasing the Sun, Wandering Soul and Broken Trinity.
Excerpts
Ellington Throne - Raw Deal
Monday nights at LaGuardia Airport are rarely empty. Tonight was no exception. The first thing that grabs your attention are the changes. We, and by ‘we’ I mean us, humans, us Normals. We are used to flying about, whisking about here and there in those big old tin cans with wings, like riding a train for some, but definitely not for me. If I’m not flying it, I’m not riding it. Simple as that, but the Newbreed loved it. They make it into a grand affair, going as far as dressing up in their Sunday’s best. They love the idea of soaring through the sky above the clouds without the use of their magic.
The Beginning
The human race has died. Those that remain have taken to the stars. In search of what? It never really mattered. It was just something for us to do. We live, not as God intended for us to live – in the flesh, but in synthetic bodies. This is my story. The last man of mankind. My name is Adam.
Chasing the Sun
Joseph did not wait to see the goblin fall. He was already limping through the woods, stopped before the stream when he saw steam rising from the goblins charred remains. “A wizard’s trick,” he mumbled, crouching low and gazed about for the wizard. He spotted Adrian kneeling before the wounded boy, while Rebecca lay unconscious beside him. The children were up on the hill wandering about, picking flowers. He expected hysteric or mute fear from the children, not flower picking. “Adrian.” Joseph harshly called out, walking to his kneeling cousin as he continued to search. “Where’s the wizard?”
The eyes that turned to regard him were not the eyes of his slow-witted cousin he had come to know. These eyes glowed with knowledge and experience. Joseph swung his bow towards those eyes.
